An invitation to mix it up!
DAY 5: WALKING CHALLENGE
You know what? Even when you start a walking challenge for people, it doesn’t mean you always wanna do the walking challenge!
It was pouring with rain in the morning and I looked out of the window, warm and cosy by my radiator and I thought, no ta! I’ll just stay here with my coffee!
But actually, there was a little part that DID want to get out there, because I knew how good it would feel once I did it.
I knew that once I got moving, put on my big cosy coat and just breathed in the fresh air, my thoughts would clear, my energy would go up, my sense of achievement would be so totally worth it.
So I put on my boots and walked.
I walked across a field near my house and then I looked up at the hill and decided to climb it.
I got to the top, satisfyingly breathless like I’d actually worked my body a bit - it’s been a while folks! - and I turned around to look at the view.
The rain was still coming down and with a soggy field carpet laid out in front of me and the clouds hanging low, there was beauty in the grey.
Anyway…
The final day is here and I’m THRILLED that we now have over 100 gorgeous photos from our members walking all over the place inside the life raft group and that there are now more than 50 of us over here on Substack.
SOOOO for our last day I have an extra little challenge - you know in yoga when they give you ‘options’? Like if you wanna take it a bit further you can lift your leg behind your ear or whatever but if you want to stay with your child’s poss that’s fine?
Think of this as a yoga option!
I’m going to invite you to try a walk you haven’t been on before. See? Nothing too strenuous here but trust me, this small change can light up parts of your brain you didn’t know were sleeping!
So: mix it up. Notice stuff. Take some pics just for the sake of capturing something beautiful, or unexpected or funny or maybe particularly ugly (!) and report back here!
Share with me where you walked and if you do go somewhere different, or notice something - did it trigger any other thoughts? Give you a new perspective on anything?
Maybe it will! Maybe it won’t. But let’s see.
